The 23rd-ranked Texas A&M softball team was rained out on the opening day of the Kajikawa Classic in Tempe, Ariz.
The Aggies (3-0) were scheduled to meet Wisconsin at 10:30 a.m. (CST) and No. 1-ranked California at 12:30 p.m., but steady overnight rain and standing water on the fields at the Tempe Sports Complex forced the cancellation of both games.
A&M is scheduled to play two games on Saturday, including a 10 a.m. (CST) matchup with New Mexico, but the Phoenix metro area is under a flash flood watch through midnight Friday.
