Texas A&M junior Antoine Wright has been named First-Team All-District 9 by the National Association of Basketball Coaches, the organization announced on Friday.
Wright was a second-team all-district pick as a freshman and sophomore.
A top candidate for first-team All-Big 12 honors, Wright leads the team in scoring with a 16.4 average and is the only player in the league to average at least 16.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists.
Wright has had five double-doubles and missed three more by just a single rebound. Wright also has emerged as one of the Big 12's top defensive players, generally guarding the opponents' top offensive player.
Wright has scored 1,145 career points, ranking him 18th in A&M history.
This is the sixth straight year an A&M player has made the NABC all-district first or second team.
