I would say, all in all, last week went pretty well. We played six really good games and one game not so well. The really cool thing though, was how we responded to that one bad outing. We came right back and played great softball! It was a great thing to see!!

The week started on Wednesday afternoon when we hosted Stephen F. Austin in a doubleheader. Wednesday was a day when nothing could go wrong for us. We scored 22 runs off of something like 33 hits in just 10 innings of play. It was so much fun!! Obviously everyone hit the ball really well, but the star of the day was Megan Gibson. She put on a clinic going 4 for 4 with 2 homeruns and a walk. It was awesome!!

The week continued on Friday with the start of our Aggie Classic. We played two games on Friday, one against Utah State and one against Ole Miss. We played Utah State first, beating them 15-1. Jill got the start for us and pitched a great game! Our hitters again came to play and gave her all the help she needed. We had 16 hits in five innings. How great is that! Our game against Ole Miss was a little bit more of a nail biter. Amanda pitched another great game for us giving up only one hit. We didn't hit extremely well but we found a way to win, 2-1. What is really exciting about that win was that even though we didn't hit as good as we wanted to, we found a way to win. That is what the game of softball is all about!

The tournament continued on Saturday when we again played Ole Miss and Utah State. Our first hiccup of the season came on in our first game against Ole Miss. We had a hard time getting hits and they had a few hits at opportune times. Those two factors led to us receiving our first loss of the season, 2-0. Even though we had just received a low blow, we had a chance to redeem ourselves in our second game against Utah State. And redeem ourselves we did, we run-ruled them 11-1. It was great to see us bounce back so quickly!!

Saturday night, Lisa's family was gracious enough to invite our team and our families over to their house for dinner. We had a ton of food and it was all equally delicious! Thanks so much Rick and Lourdes!

The last game of the tournament come on Sunday afternoon against Northwestern State. Northwestern played a good game but we came away with the win 9-3.

This upcoming week is again another busy week for Aggie Softball. We have one home game against Sam Houston State University and then head to Palm Springs for a tournament. During the tournament we are going to get a chance to face some top 10 teams and show the world what Aggie Softball is all about!! It is going to be exciting!

Our first and only home game of the week is on Wednesday afternoon, so come out and help us start the week off with a bang!

Adrian
