The Texas A&M men's golf team carded a four-over-par 292 on Wednesday and is tied for 12th place after the first round of the John Burns Intercollegiate at Leilehua Golf Club.
The tournament continues with Thursday's second round followed by the final round on Friday.
No. 4-ranked New Mexico and No. 16 UNLV are tied for the lead after firing 14-under-par 274s, followed by Arizona (278), San Diego State (280), Texas Tech (280), Colorado State (281), No. 5 Auburn (283), BYU (285), SMU (286), Hawaii (288), San Jose State (291), A&M (292), Denver (292), Utah (293), Pacific (293), UC-Santa Barbara (294), Hawaii-Hilo (297), Nevada (297), UTEP (297), San Franciscon (304) and Long Beach State (304).
New Mexico's Spencer Levin leads the individual standings after posting a seven-under-par 65, two strokes ahead of UNLV's Ryan Moore and SMU's Will Dobson, who had 67s.
A&M was led by freshman Trey Todd and junior Jerad Harklau with even-par 72s, while freshmen Bobby Gates and Matt Van Zandt each carded 74s and junior Andrew Parr had a 75.
