The No. 16 Texas A&M softball team will take on No.
1 Cal, No. 12 Washington No. 23 Long Beach, Loyola Marymount and UNVL at the
Palm Springs Desert Classic, hosted by Oregon State, beginning Friday.
?This tournament will be a great test for out team,? A&M head coach Jo Evans
stated. ?We are playing with a lot of confidence and momentum right now and
we are looking forward to the competition we will face in Palm Springs.
Playing a tough non-conference schedule is essential to getting ready for
Big 12 play.?
The Aggies, who are off to their best start, 11-1, since 1991 open
tournament play at 12:30 p.m. (CDT) Friday against Loyola (0-0) before
facing Washington (7-3) at 8 p.m. Saturday the Aggies open with top-ranked
Cal (5-0) at 5 p.m. followed by UNLV (8-5) at 10:30. A&M closes out
conference play on Sunday at 1:30 against Long Beach State (7-3), their
third ranked opponent of the weekend.
