Kelsey Bryant, who has signed a national letter of intent to play volleyball at Texas A&M, has been named the Gatorade Texas High School Player of the Year.

The Gatorade High School Player of the Year program recognizes one winner in each of the 50 states and the District of Columbia, and awards one National Player of the Year in football, baseball, softball, volleyball, and boys' and girls' basketball, soccer, and track & field.

In addition to Gatorade state honors, Bryant, a 6-2 middle blocker at Westlake High School in Austin, Texas, was recently named to the 2004 Mizuno/Volleyball All-American first team after leading the Chaparrals (43-1) to the Texas 5A high school title and earning tournament co-MVP honors.
