The Texas A&M men's golf team will compete in the Hall of Fame Invitational Friday through Sunday at Redstone Golf Club.

The tournament will consist of 18 holes each day on the par-72, 7,352-yard course, which is the site of the PGA TOUR's Houston Open.

In addition to A&M, the 17-team field includes No. 1-ranked Oklahoma State, No. 4 New Mexico, No. 5 Wake Forest, No. 6 UNLV, No. 11 TCU, No. 21 Kentucky, No. 25 Texas, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Oklahoma, Penn State, Purdue, Vanderbilt, South Carolina-Aiken and Gustavus Adolphus.

Representing the Aggies will be juniors Andrew Parr and Jared Harklau, and freshmen Robert Gates, Martin Piller and Matt Van Zandt. Senior David Schultz will play as an individual.

"We are really going to have to step up and compete if we want to be successful in this tournament," A&M coach J.T. Higgins said. "Redstone is a PGA TOUR course and we are playing against some of the best teams in the nation. For us to be competitive, we need to play with a lot of heart and desire.

"It's going to take a total team effort with all five players contributing and fighting for every shot," Higgins added. "We are excited to tee it up in this field because we have been working hard and it is time to see where we stand."

The Aggies finished 10th in the tournament last year while Arizona captured the team title.
