Texas A&M shortstop Adrian Gregory drove in four runs as the No. 10 Texas A&M softball team defeated the FAU Owls, 6-2, at the FAU Parent's Weekend Tournament.
"I am proud of our kids being patient but we did a good job of fighting through a good pitcher and coming out on top," commented A&M head coach Jo Evans. "I though Jill (Weynand) threw great. Once she settled in and our bats got her some support she threw as well as she can throw.
Weynand improved to 8-1 on the season with the complete game six-strikeout performance against the Owls.
Gregory was named the State Farm Player of the Game for the second time in the tournament as she was 3-for-4 with four RBI against the Owls.
Texas A&M scored four runs in the sixth and two in the seventh to come from behind to improve to 25-2 on the season.
Sharonda McDonald (Houston, Texas) and Jamie Hinshaw became the Aggies' first two runs after back-to-back singles to lead off the inning. Amanda Scarborough (Magnolia, Texas) drove in McDonald on a fielder's choice before Gregory plated Hinshaw and Jami Lobpries (Wharton, Texas), who was pinch running for Megan Gibson (Spring, Texas), with a single to left. Scarborough became the Aggies fourth run of the inning on a single by Rocky Spencer (Katy, Texas).
