Texas A&M pitcher Amanda Scarborough was named the NFCA National Player of the Week for games of March 14-20, the association announced Wednesday.

Scarborough (Magnolia, Texas) earned the honor after going 3-0 in the circle, including a no-hitter in the championship game while hitting .467 with seven runs scored and two RBI.

"This is an exciting award for Amanda," stated Texas A&M head coach Jo Evans. "She has been great for us all season and she seemed unstoppable in the circle and in the batters box last weekend. She is an outstanding athlete and is certainly deserving of this honor."

Scarborough was named Big 12 Pitcher of the Week in week one after opening her career, and the season, with a no-hitter against North Texas.

The No. 7 Aggies, who are off to their best start in school history (28-2), will open conference play against co-No. 7 Baylor at Getterman Stadium Wednesday at 6:30.

Live audio and stats will be available, free of charge, on AggieAthletics.com. Fans attending Wednesday's game can listen live to the action by tuning in to the low end of the FM dial.
