The No. 7 Texas A&M softball team (29-2, 1-0) will play host to No. 18 Nebraska (20-9, 0-0) in a two-game series at the Aggie Softball Complex on Friday and Saturday. Friday's game is slated for 7 p.m. with Saturday's first pitch set for noon.

The Aggies, who are 23-20 all time against the Huskers, are riding a 13-game win streak and are off to their best start in school history while Nebraska, the defending conference champion, enters the game after a 6-5 loss to Creighton on Wednesday.

"There is really no break in the Big 12," commented A&M head coach Jo Evans. "We played a really good Baylor team on Wednesday and now we turn around and face the defending champs from last season. This series has produced some exciting games recently and I see no reason why this weekend's games will be any different. "

The Aggies are 3-2 in their last five meetings with the Huskers. A&M swept then-No. 5 Nebraska at home in 2003 and defeated them, 3-2, in eight innings in the semifinal game of the FSU Classic last season before dropping two extra-inning games to them in Lincoln to end the conference season.

The Aggies are coming off a 7-1 win over co-No.7 Baylor to open the conference season in Waco on Wednesday. Freshman pitcher Amanda Scarborough, this week's Louisville Slugger/NFCA National Player of the Week, hit and pitched the Aggies to the win as she took a no-hitter into the sixth and did not allow an earned run while hitting two home runs and driving in four.

Live audio and stats of this weekend's games will be available, free of charge, on AggieAthletics.com. Fans attending the games will be able to listen to the broadcast by tuning in to the low end of the FM dial.
