Texas A&M pitcher Amanda Scarborough was named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week and the USA Softball National Player of the Week for games of March 21-27.

Scarborough (Magnolia, Texas) earned the honors this week after going 3-0 in the circle with a win over then-No. 7 Baylor and two wins over then-No. 18 Nebraska where she stretched her streak of innings without allowing an earned run to 44. Scarborough was just as hot at the plate as she hit .500 on the week with two doubles, two home runs and five RBI.

"This has been a great season for the team and Amanda in particular," commented A&M head coach Jo Evans. "She is the consummate team player and has a great work ethic. She is certainly deserving of the recognition."

Scarborough first received the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week award in the first week of the season after throwing a no-hitter on opening day.

Last week she was named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA National Player of the Week.

The No. 6 Aggies, who are off to their best start in school history (31-2), will take a break from conference play as they take on Texas State in San Marcos on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Live audio and stats will be available, free of charge, on AggieAthletics.com. Fans attending Wednesday's game can listen live to the action by tuning in to the low end of the FM dial.
