Things here just keep getting better and better. This weekend we picked up two more Big 12 wins, had our second largest crowd in Aggie Softball history, and improved our record to 31-2. Wow!
Things got rolling Friday afternoon when we hosted Nebraska in the first of our scheduled two-game series. We could tell it was going to be a great day because the weather was perfect and our stands were packed. It is so awesome to play in front our rowdy home-field crowd! We started off to kind of slow start, not scoring any runs until the fourth inning. We finally figured out a way to manufacture a run and never looked back. We ended up beating the Huskers 4-2. It was a great win and an even better way to start the weekend!
The weather on Saturday did not look too promising but it managed to hold off just long enough for us to get our game in. We sure did take advantage of the non-rainy weather and defeated Nebraska 6-0. We again struggled early but Laura pushed us over the hump by hitting a two-run bomb against the wind over the left-field fence. It was awesome!! It sure was great sweeping Nebraska and getting a little revenge in from last year along the way!
We will be on the road for a while, not playing a home game until April 9th, but we do have some big games coming up. We play a non-conference game against Texas State tomorrow and then head to Kansas for a two-game series against the Jayhawks. So if you have some free time tune in to Matt and Stephen and keep up with your Aggies!
