The Texas A&M men's golf team will compete in the Morris Williams Intercollegiate Monday and Tuesday at Austin Country Club.
The tournament will consist of 36 holes on Monday and a final 18 on Tuesday on the par-72, 6,906-yard course.
In addition to A&M, the 16-team field includes top-ranked Oklahoma State, No. 6 Florida, No. 9 Brigham Young, No. 12 TCU, No. 18 Texas, Arkansas, Baylor, Fresno State, Houston, Oklahoma, Rice, SMU, Texas Tech, Tulsa and Virginia.
Representing A&M will be junior Andrew Parr, freshman Robert Gates, junior Jerad Harklau, senior David Schultz and freshman Matt Van Zandt. Freshman Trey Todd will play as an individual.
The Aggies are coming off a fourth-place finish at the prestigious Hall of Fame Invitational on March 20 in Houston, where they beat four top-25-ranked teams.
"We had a really strong finish in Houston last week that came from a great team effort," A&M coach J.T. Higgins said. "We hope to build on that success and carry it over to Austin but we are going to need that same kind of effort with every player contributing to the success of the team. We will be facing another outstanding field and it always tough to take down Texas on their home turf. But I like the way we are playing and coming together as a team so I really excited to see how we handle this test."
