I have nothing but good news to report from here in College Station. We had another great week grabbing two conference wins and one midweek, non-conference win. It was pretty exciting!
We traveled to San Marcos, Texas on Wednesday to take on the Texas State Bobcats. Even though the ending score was 10-5 in favor of us, the actual game was much closer. Texas State came out swinging early and never really stopped. They definitely swing the bat hard! The good news is...so do we!! We scored 10 runs on 12 hits, providing us with more than enough offense to get the win. Amanda and Megan both hit home runs to help lead us to the victory. It was a great midweek game!
We played our fourth and fifth conference games in Lawrence, Kansas against the Kansas Jawhawks. You can pretty much say it was an Aggie offensive weekend! We had 23 hits over the two day span and put up a total of 20 runs. It was amazing! Amanda got both starts for us and again managed to shut down another tough offensive team. It was awesome!!
Last week Amanda was named the National Pitcher of the Week for the second week in a row! How awesome is that. Way to go Amanda! Also, Sharonda had a pretty monumental week. She was named NSCA All-American, which has to do with weightlifting, and she broke the A&M record for most career stolen bases. The girl is only a sophomore!! Congrats Sho!!
Everyone always asks me, "Do you enjoy your team?" I want to take a little time and tell you just how much fun our team has together. Our game on Saturday ended around 4:30, giving us the rest of the night off. You would think since we spend so much time together, everyone would want their space and need a break from each other during our free time. Nope...not our team. About 12 us of took over the lobby, half watching the men's basketball final four on TV and the other half watching the Aggie baseball game on-line. We love just hanging out together. It is so great!
Anyway, back on subject, this is a HUGE week for us! We play a little team based out of Austin on Wednesday and then host Iowa State in a two-day series this weekend. For those of you who have a low-key week, you should come out and support your Aggies! We need your help!! Let's come together and BEAT THE HELL OUTTA EVERYBODY... especially u.t.!
See you at the games!
Adrian
