The Big 12 champion Texas A&M soccer team wrapped up its spring exhibition season on Saturday afternoon with a scoreless tie against North Carolina before an estimated 2,000 fans at Houston Christian Academy.
The Aggies, who were outshot 7-5 in the match, got strong play from the defense, which included junior Emily DeWoody, sophomores Annie Burnett and Lauren Pfister, and freshman Jordan Falcusan.
A&M concludes the spring with a record of 10-0-3 and now looks to the start of the 2005 season this fall. The Aggies open exhibition play on Saturday, Aug. 20 at home against Southern Miss and begin the regular season in College Station on Friday, Aug. 26 against Stephen F. Austin. Head Coach G Guerrieri will return 10 starters and 23 letterwinners from the 2004 team that posted an 18-6 mark and won the Big 12 regular season and tournament championships while advancing to the NCAA tournament for the 10th straight season.
The Aggies will also host the 2005 NCAA Women's College Cup, December 2-4, at the Aggie Soccer Complex. Tickets may be purchased by logging on to aggieathletics.com.
