The Texas A&M softball team moved up one spot to No. 5 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25, the association announced Tuesday.

The Aggies, who have been ranked in every poll this season, are off to a school-record 36-3 start and are 7-1 in the Big 12 after sweeping Iowa State at home over the weekend.

Texas A&M is tied with No. 1 Michigan for the fewest losses in the nation at three. The record for the fewest losses in school history is eight by the 1987 National Championship team.

The Aggies are one of four Big 12 teams in the top 10 with Texas at No. 4, Oklahoma at No. 6 and Baylor at No. 8. A&M will travel to Norman this weekend for a two-game set with the Sooners.

The Aggies, who are picked to finish third in the Big 12, are currently 1/2 game behind Oklahoma and will look to take over the top spot in a mid-week doubleheader against Oklahoma State on Wednesday.

The Cowgirls and Aggies will begin play at 5 p.m. on Wednesday at the Aggie Softball Complex.
