Texas A&M first baseman Lindsay Park hit two homeruns in the nightcap as the No. 5 Texas A&M softball team (38-3, 9-1) swept Oklahoma State (28-15, 3-6), 2-1 and 7-2 in a doubleheader in front of 894 fans at the Aggie Softball Complex.

Park (Arcadia, Calif.) was named the State Farm Player of the Day after knocking two OSU pitchers out of the game with a 3-for-6, 3 RBI and two run performance.

"We knew the first game would be challenge so it was a huge lift to get the win.," commented A&M head coach Jo Evans. "We challenged our kids to play with enthusiasm and passion they definitely did that tonight."

In the first game, Oklahoma State's Stephanie Nicholson put the Cowgirls up 1-0 in the fourth when she scored on a Tara Jeffery single to right after leading off with a double.

A&M tied the game in the fifth when pinch runner Morgan Hebert (Peoria, Ariz.) scored from third on a throwing error by the OSU second baseman. Hebert was running for Park who led off with a single to left.

Sharonda McDonald (Houston, Texas) gave the Aggies the win in the bottom of the seventh when she scored on a Jana James (Mesquite, Texas) one-out single to give the Aggies the 2-1 decision.

In the circle, Megan Gibson (Spring, Texas) retired the first seven batters en route to a seven strikeout complete-game win moving her to 8-1 on the season and 2-0 in conference.

In the second game, after the Cowgirls went up 1-0 in first, James tied the game with a single through the left side in the bottom of the inning scoring McDonald from second.

In the second, Park put the Aggies up 3-1 with a first-pitch home run to right center plating Adrian Gregory (Livingston, Texas) after she singled to lead off the inning.

Rocky Spencer (Katy, Texas) gave A&M a 4-1 lead in the fourth when she scored on a McDonald double to left before Joy Davis (Austin, Texas) made it 5-1 on a sac fly to center by Jamie Hinshaw (Missouri City, Texas).

Amanda Scarborough (Magnolia, Texas) and Park put the Ags up by six in the fifth with two solo homeruns. Scarborough's homer was her ninth of the season while Park hit her fourth.

Scarborough took the win the second game improving to 22-1 overall and 6-1 in the Big 12.

With the sweep, Texas A&M improved to 29-19 all time against Oklahoma State.

The Aggies continue conference play this weekend with a two-game set against No. 5 Oklahoma in Norman. Saturday's game is scheduled for 3 p.m. with Sunday's first pitch set for noon.
