WOW, what a weekend!
We left via bus for Oklahoma on Friday afternoon. One stop, three movies, and eight hours later, we arrived in Norman. Our bus trips are very long and boring but serve as a great a great time for bonding! We definitely made some memories!
We played our first game against OU on Saturday afternoon. As a team, we had an outstanding day at the plate! We scored 7 runs, had 8 hits, and 2 homeruns. We certainly swung the bat! The bad news was... so did Oklahoma. They outhit us and managed to win the first game of the series.
The second game was played at 12 o'clock on Sunday afternoon. We knew that in order to stay in the championship race we had to get a win at OU. So, that's exactly what we did! We came out on Sunday focused and determined! Amanda got the start for us and pitched an outstanding game! She and Megan, who closed the game, only allowed Oklahoma 2 hits. It was exactly what we needed! Our offense found a way to manufacture runs which gave us the 4-1 win. It was AWESOME!!
The trip back home was again long but pretty fun. Everyone was in a great mood because of the earlier win. Another exciting game of Catch Phrase took place on the way back. It definitely made the trip go by quicker! It was a pretty great weekend!
We only have two games this week, one on Saturday and one on Sunday. This light schedule allows us to get some much-needed rest. We host to Texas Tech this weekend and plan to come out fighting on all cylinders! The games are scheduled for 2:00 on Saturday and 12:00 on Sunday. Sunday is also Senior Day, so there will be a ceremony immediately following the game.
I hope all of you can find time in your busy schedules to come out and watch some exciting softball this weekend! We need your help as we continue to fight for a Big 12 Championship!
Hope I see you this weekend!
Adrian
