Texas A&M wide receiver Terrence Murphy was selected in the second round of Saturday's NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers.

Murphy, from Tyler, Texas, was chosen as the 26th pick in the round and 58th overall. It marked the 31st straight season that the Texas A&M football program has had at least one player taken in the NFL Draft.

2004 (SENIOR): Earned first-team All-Big 12 honors at wide receiver after posting 56 catches for 721 yards and three touchdowns ... had a team-best 28 catches that produced first downs ... was second on the team with 11 20-yard-plus gains (nine via catch, two by kickoff return) ... started 11 games at wide receiver ... missed the Clemson game due to injury ... ranked second on the team in all-purpose yards with 881 (80.1 per game) ... rushed for 31 yards on four carries ... gained 13 yards on one punt return and 116 yards on seven kickoff returns ... owns school records in receptions and receiving yards with 131 for 1,962.

2003 (JUNIOR): Led the team in receptions and receiving yards, kickoff return yardage and all-purpose yards ... earned first-team All-Big 12 honors as a kickoff returnman after leading the conference with a 27.2 average ... gained 1,538 all-purpose yards, which was a record for an Aggie wide receiver ... caught 44 passes for 762 yards (17.3 average) ... gained a school record 626 yards on 23 kickoff returns with a long of 77 yards against Arkansas State ... contributed 150 rushing yards including a spectacular 80-yard touchdown run on a handoff against Utah.

2002 (SOPHOMORE): Contributed 36 catches for 599 yards and 4 touchdowns in 2002 ... started three games and saw action in 11 contests ... missed the season-opener due to injury ... had a pair of 100-yard receiving days - a season-high 128 yards on 5 catches vs. Oklahoma and 101 yards on 4 catches vs. Missouri.

2001 (FRESHMAN): Burst on the scene by setting a freshman record for receptions with 36 catches for 518 yards and three touchdowns ... the totals were the second-best on the squad ... against Colorado he caught a freshman-record 10 balls for 146 yards and one touchdown ... his 10 catches in a game rank him sixth all-time at A&M and first on the freshman list erasing the old record of six by Rod Bernstine in 1983 ... his 36 catches as a freshman erased a 29-year-old record of 31 set by Richard Osborne in 1972 ... his 146 yards receiving against the Buffaloes ranks him 14th all-time ... his 146 yards equaled the most by an A&M receiver since Chris Taylor totaled 177 against Tulsa in 1999 ... he was the first A&M freshman with multiple 100-yard games ... caught a pass in every game with the exception of the Wyoming contest ... his 45-yard catch against Notre Dame was the eight longest by a freshman in school history ... made seven starts.

HIGH SCHOOL: Earned Offensive Most Valuable Player honors in District 15-4A at quarterback while passing for 1,149 yards and 11 touchdowns while completing 65-of-158 passes ... also rushed for 512 yards and 7 touchdowns on 92 carries ... coached by Darold Turner.

PERSONAL: Terrence Cardene Murphy is the son of Brenda Guthrie of Tyler, Texas ... born Dec. 15, 1982 ... agricultural development major.
