Man, what a great weekend!! We had two amazing crowds, two beautiful days of weather, two solid team outings, and best of all...picked up two more wins! It was pretty exciting!
We hosted Texas Tech in a two-game series starting on Saturday. The first game got off to kind of a slow start but we again found a way to get our offense going. We started off the game by scoring two quick runs in the first but then hit a little offensive drought. Our bats came alive again in the 5th which allowed us to win the game 7-2. It was great!
The second game of the series was played at noon on Sunday. We started the game off right by scoring in the first and then never looking back. We beat Texas Tech via run-rule in the 5th inning. It was a great feeling to come out and control a game from start to finish!
Sunday was also Senior day for our family and friends. We had a family barbeque after the game and then a quiet ceremony homoring our seniors. It was a really neat experience!
This is a VERY important and EXCITING week for us. We have three conference games scheduled this week, one at home and two on the road. We also have a chance to clinch the BIG 12 CHAMPIONSHIP!! Is there anything more exciting than that?!?
We play our first game of the week on Wednesday against some unknown team based out of Austin. We are so excited to get to host Texas on our own field in front of our own crowd! It is going to be AWESOME!! For those of you who cannot make it to the game, you can watch it on ESPN2 at 7 p.m. Whether you are at the game or at home, wear your maroon and root for the Aggies! It is going to be GREAT!!
Then on Friday we head to Columbia to take on the Missouri Tigers. The two-game series will end our conference weekend schedule and leave us with only one more game of conference to play. The end is near and the standings look pretty great for us!!
I hope everyone tunes in and thinks Maroon!!
Go Ags!
