I guess the only way to characterize this week would be to say that it was bittersweet. We played an amazing game on Wednesday, clinched the Big 12 on Saturday, and then gave away two games over the weekend. With the losses we dropped to 42-6 but the great thing is....WE ARE BIG 12 CHAMPIONS!!
Wednesday's game was INCREDIBLE!! Whether you were able to watch it on TV or watch it live you could tell that the atmosphere was amazing! Our fans made the Aggie Softball Complex the best softball atmosphere ever! A huge thanks to everyone who was able to come out and share an awesome night with us! I don't think Texas knew quite what they were getting into on their bus ride over here, but they sure did find out pretty quick. We came out on fire in the first inning, scoring 3 runs via a Megan Gibson homerun. It was AWESOME!! Texas gave us a good fight, tying the game in the 3rd, but we provided to much offense for them to handle in the 5th. The winning blow was handed to them by Laura Durham, who came through with a HUGE pinch-hit triple. It was so cool!! It was a great, GREAT night!!
The weekend, on the other hand, was not so great. We didn't play bad while we were in Missouri, but we couldn't find a way to win either of the two games. It was a rough weekend, but one that we can definitely learn from.
We only have one game this week, but it is a very important one. We host Baylor tomorrow night at 6:30. Tomorrow is also senior night for Morgan, Nicole, Jana, and myself. The four of us definitely want a win so that we can end our final regular season on a positive note. It will be an emotional but great night.
