Texas A&M junior wide receiver Chad Schroeder received a $500 scholarship from the Touchdown Club of Houston for being the team's top scholar-athlete at the organization's Houston Football Dinner presented by Everyones Internet on April 27.

Schroeder, the son of Ron and Dixie Schroeder of Austin, was one of more than 20 football players from the professional, collegiate and high school level honored at the banquet.

A business administration major, Schroeder posted four catches for 135 yards (33.8 average) and two touchdowns. Schroeder, who was a quarterback in high school for Austin Westlake, also completed one pass for a touchdown to his former high school teammate Joey Thomas on a fake field goal against Oklahoma.
