Six Texas A&M football assistant coaches will be honored at the All-American Football Foundation's Banquet of Champions being held Tuesday at the Hyatt Regency Reunion Hotel in Dallas.
The All-American Football Foundation honors the coaches with the Mike Campbell Top Assistant Award. Assistant head coach Ken Pope, offensive coordinator Les Koenning, Jr., offensive line coach Jim Bob Helduser, defensive line coach Stan Eggen, running backs coach Lee Fobbs and tight ends coach and special teams coordinator Mark Tommerdahl are the A&M coaches being honored.
"I am very proud of my staff and they are very deserving of this honor," Aggie Head Football Coach Dennis Franchione said. "I would like to thank the All-American Football Foundation for all that it does to promote college football."
Coach Fran has been honored previously by the All-American Football Foundation as well as defensive coordinator Carl Torbush, cornerbacks coach Chris Thurmond and safeties coach Melvin Smith.
