Even though we only had one game last week, I would say we had an amazing week. Our crowd was again in the top five all-time at A&M, we chalked up another win, and finally clinched the Big 12 outright. It just doesn't get better than that!
On Wednesday night we hosted the Baylor Bears in our last conference game of the season. Between our players and our crowd, the tone was set very quickly. We scored four runs in the first inning and never looked back from there. Our hitters were very patient and came through with many clutch hits. It was AWESOME!! The game ended with us winning 7-1!
This week will be a very exciting week for Aggie Softball. We will be playing in Oklahoma City at the Big 12 Tournament. The festivities will get started on Wednesday afternoon with the annual Big 12 Banquet. Many Aggies should receive well-earned awards, so it will be a very gratifying day. Since we finished first in the Big 12, we are scheduled to play the late game on Wednesday night. It will be exciting to kick off our tournament play on the first day! The championship game is scheduled at 3:30 on Saturday afternoon, so we are hoping to be here and playing for a long time. It's going to be awesome!
Although we are a bit banged up right now as a team, our goal to win the Big 12 Tournament has not changed. We have always won as a team and that is what we plan on doing again! This is going to be a great week and it all starts on Wednesday evening. So, if you have some free time or can make some, tune in to Matt and Stephen and root for your Fightin' Texas Aggies!
