Texas A&M freshman Megan Gibson was named to the Big 12 All-Tournament team, league officials announced Saturday.
Gibson (Spring, Texas) hit .500 in the Aggies' three games with two home runs and four RBI. The two home runs in the Big 12 Tournament lifted her season total to 18, tying the school record set by Liz Mizera in 1985.
Gibson reached base in her first seven plate appearances in Oklahoma City, and also scored five runs, stole two bases and walked four times while slugging at a 1.375 clip.
A first-team All-Big 12 selection, Gibson's average ranks second on the team at .407 while leading the squad in home runs (18), runs batted in (56), slugging percentage (.855), on-base percentage (.500), walks (25) and total bases (124).
A&M, the Big 12 regular season champions, holds a No. 4 national ranking as the Aggies await the announcement of the NCAA Tournament field of 64 Sunday at 6:30 p.m. (CDT) on ESPNEWS.
