Wahoo!! Super Regionals here we come!

This weekend was awesome! We played three games, one against McNeese State and two against Penn State. We were able to pull off three wins and further our goal for a National Championship!

The weekend got rolling on Friday afternoon. We opened up the tournament by playing McNeese State. You could tell we definitely came to play. We scored five runs in the first inning and never looked back. Megan got the start for us and pitched just great! The game ended with us winning 6-3 and putting us one step closer to a regional tournament win.

The second game of the tournament took place at high noon on Saturday and man was it hot. I am pretty sure there was absolutely no wind. To make things more uncomfortable, we were the designated visitors, putting us in the visitor dugout at Aggie Field. It was pretty weird. We got off to a pretty slow start, finding ourselves down 2-0 in the fourth. But the fifth inning was definitely an Aggie inning. We found a way to get two runners on and the coaches called on Nicole to pinch-hit. Oh she got a hit alright, right off the top of the right field fence, marking her first home run of the season. It was AMAZING!! I don't know if I have ever been so excited! Megan and our defense did not allow Penn State anymore runs, allowing us to clinch our second win of the tournament. It was great!

The third day of the tournament was surely a great one. We found ourselves sitting pretty comfortably in the winner's bracket. We again started off pretty slow, falling behind 2-0 in the second. But we soon ended the tension by scoring seven runs in the third. After that we felt pretty comfortable and pushed across two more runs in the bottom of the sixth. The final score was 9-2, which made us the regional champions. How exciting is that!

This weekend marks the time of Super Regionals and guess what...WE ARE HOSTING!! We are getting a chance to clinch a World Series berth right on our own field. It does not get better than that! Alabama will be coming to College Station to play us in a best of three series. The first game will be on Friday at 7 p.m. So mark your calendars and come out on Friday and show Alabama what the Aggie Spirit is all about!!
