Texas A&M men's golf coach J.T. Higgins has been named Eaton/Golf Pride South Central Region Coach of the Year, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced on Wednesday.
Other regional coaches of the year are Army's Jimmy Ray Clevenger (New England), Brian Yaniger of Towson (Mid-Atlantic), Duke's Rod Myers (South), Chris Haack of Georgia (Southeast), Kentucky's Brian Craig (Midwest), Mike Holder of Oklahoma State (Central), Glen Millican of New Mexico (Southwest) and UNLV's Dwaine Knight (Pacific).
The nine regional coaches are candidates for the Dave Williams Eaton Golf Pride National Coach of the Year.
Higgins led the Aggies to their second straight appearance at the NCAA Championships, which is being played through Saturday in Owings Mills, Md. A&M finished third at the NCAA Central Regional and finished in the top 10 of all 13 tournaments going into nationals.
