Jorrie Adams and Erik Mayes have been dismissed from the Texas A&M football team for violating team rules, Aggie Head Coach Dennis Franchione announced on Monday.
"It is unfortunate and I am disappointed that it has to reach this point," Coach Fran said. "We wish both of these young men well."
Adams, from Jasper High School, earned a letter last season as a redshirt freshman defensive lineman. He played in every game and recorded 22 tackles.
Mayes, from Humble High School, earned a letter as he made one start and played in all 12 games last fall as a redshirt freshman defensive back. He recorded 69 tackles and broke up eight passes to go along with one interception.
