Charlee Simmons has been named Video Coordinator for Women's Basketball at Texas A&M, coach Gary Blair said Friday.
Simmons, a native of Edmond, Okla., has served as a student assistant for the SMU women's basketball program since 2001 where she coordinated the video operations, equipment, and various duties related to team travel.
A May 2005 graduate of SMU with a degree in History, Simmons will direct A&M's video operations as it pertains to the women's basketball coaching staff's scouting of opponents and for self-scouting. In this newly created position, she will coordinate the tape exchange and the computerized video breakdown of game tapes for the coaching staff.
Simmons played basketball at Oklahoma City's Heritage Hall High School where she was a three year starter and a team captain. She also played summer AAU basketball for the Oklahoma Mustangs.
