Texas A&M's football team practiced twice on Tuesday at the grass practice facility adjacent to Kyle Field.
The morning workout lasted about two hours and was conducted in shorts, shoulder pads, and helmets. The evening session went about an hour and 45 minuets as the team wore shorts, jerseys, and helmets.
A&M coach Dennis Franchione continues to monitor the progress of the cornerbacks as he and his assistants have a pair of vacancies to fill.
Franchione said sophomore transfer Marquis Carpenter continues to excel at cornerback.
"I think we are really doing well at the position," Franchione said. "Marquis Carpenter just continues to make plays every day. He made a tremendous play on the goal line today breaking up a pass. He plays the position very well and I've been very pleased with him."
Carpenter played last season at Coffeyville Junior College in Kansas.
The Aggies will practice in full pads for their lone workout on Wednesday.
A&M, ranked No. 17 in the USA Today Top 25, continues to prepare for the season opener at Clemson on Sept. 3 which will be televised by ABC Sports.
