Texas A&M senior Andrew Parr carded a four-over-par 74 on Tuesday and finished tied for ninth in stroke play at the 105th U.S. Amateur Championship at Merion Golf Club.
Parr is one of 64 players move on to match play, which begins on Wednesday. The finals are scheduled for Sunday.
Parr's 68-74=142 total finished seven strokes behind medalist James Lepp, who posted a five-under total of 70-65=135.
Incoming A&M freshman Bronson Burgoon finished 81st with a 74-74=148 total and did not advance.
