Can you believe our crowd??!!?? Last Friday night's game against Stephen F. Austin was by far the most exciting soccer atmosphere I have ever played in. I cannot describe how amazing it feels to play in front of over 5,000 screaming fans. It was undoubtedly one of the greatest moments in my soccer career. YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!! Thank you so much for coming out, in masses might I add, to watch our first regular season game. With a 4-0 victory over a very strong team, I think we set the standard for what is striving to be the greatest season ever for Aggie soccer. And I don't think I'm alone when I say that. Talk to anyone who was there that night and they will tell you; the energy flowing through that place was immeasurable. I think all of us are aware of something special this season. It was in the air, and I feel so lucky to be here to see it unfold!

Saturday we traveled up to Ft. Worth to take on TCU Sunday afternoon. After a fun bus ride filled with freshmen dancing down the aisles (with only a slight push from their fellow teammates), we arrived Saturday night in game mode. Sunday was an important win for us. TCU has a great reputation and is a tough team to play at home. It was our first away game as a squad and, as our coaches continue to tell us, EVERY game is a necessary step to get us where we want to go. I think we played a good match. We fought to play our style and to control the pace of the game. So many different players made a huge impact and I think it was a testament to the depth of this team. Plus, we scored some great goals!

And now it's off to Michigan! We leave Thursday morning for an important weekend on the road. With two fierce teams ahead of us, I think we are all very aware of how much this weekend means. Two victories would put us in a great spot before we finally find the Aggie Soccer Complex for our next home match against East Carolina. We try to focus on only one game at a time, so right now it's all about Michigan State on Friday afternoon. I think it will be a great test against a team who stacks up very well in national rankings. I am really excited about the trip. I always find that road trips are a great chance for us to continue to get to know each other, have a little fun, and most importantly come together as a team in an unfamiliar atmosphere. I am looking forward to an enjoyable (and hopefully cooler!) long weekend.

I sure hope you all will have a chance to listen to the broadcast of the games this weekend on AggieAthletics.com, and I cannot wait to see you back in the stands Friday the 9th when we take on East Carolina.

Thanks again for your support!

Laura
