Today marks the kick-off of the first ever Big 12/Big 10 Soccer Challenge. Eight teams from the Big 12 will face-off against eight teams from the Big 10 on Friday and Sunday of Labor Day weekend. Each conference will have four hosts for the matches. The weekend schedule is listed below.
No. 6 Texas A&M will play their first game of the challenge against Michigan State today at 3:00 p.m. at Old College Field in East Lansing. This marks the first meeting between the Aggies and the Spartans.
The Aggies will end the weekend Sunday in Ann Arbor when they face-off against the University of Michigan. Game time is set for 11:00 a.m. A&M leads the series 1-0 against the Wolverines.
Heading into the challenge, A&M is 2-0-0, having scored a total of seven goals while blanking their opponents. Sophomores Melissa Garey and Ashlee Pistorius have combined for six of the seven Aggie goals. A&M has also outshot their opponents 59-8.
