The No. 18-ranked Texas A&M men's golf team opens its fall season at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate on Friday and Sunday the The University of New Mexico's Championship Golf Course.

The tournament will consist of 36 holes on Friday and 18 on Saturday.

In addition to A&M, 20-team field includes No. 8 UNLV, No. 10 BYU, No. 17 Arizona, No. 20 New Mexico, Air Force, Colorado State, Fresno State, Nevada, New Mexico State, San Diego State, Baylor, Texas-El Paso, Texas Tech, Colorado, Denver, Northwestern, Iowa State, Wyoming and the New Mexico junior varsity.

Representing A&M will be seniors Andrew Parr and Jerad Harklau, junior Chris Massoletti, sophomore Robert Gates and freshman Bronson Burgoon. Sophomore Kris Devlin will play as an individual.

"We are ready to get going and see what this team can do," A&M coach J.T. Higgins said. "This group has a lot of confidence and we feel like we can compete with anybody. The Tucker is a great place to start because we are going to see some extremely talented teams.

"I like the talent that we can put out there, but I also really like the way this team plays," Higgins added. "They play with great composure, poise and confidence like they know something good is about to happen. If we can take that attitude with us to Albuquerque, it should be a terrific week."
