The Texas A&M men's golf team will play in the Adams Cup of Newport Cleveland Golf Classic on Monday and Tuesday at the Orchard Course at Newport National Golf Club.

The tournament will consist of 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday. Play begins at 8 a.m (Eastern) each day.

In addition to A&M, the 17-team field includes East Carolina, Furman, Georgetown, Houston, Iowa State, Marshall, North Carolina, North Texas, Rhode Island, South Florida, Southeastern Louisiana, South Carolina-Aiken, Texas-San Antonio, Virginia Commonwealth, Yale and Bryant.

The Aggies will be represented by seniors Andrew Parr and Jerad Harklau, sophomores Robert Gates and Trey Todd, and freshman Bronson Burgoon.

The Aggies tied for eighth in their season opener at the Tucker Intercollegiate Sept. 16-17 in Albuquerque.

"We are really happy to be able to get back out on the road right away after a tough tournament last week," A&M coach J.T. Higgins said. "We worked hard on our putting this week and I think we have everything straightened out. We did so many things right in our last tournament that I think if we can eliminate our mistakes, we could have a really strong showing. Newport National is a great track for our team that should allow us to capitalize on our length off the tee and our strong wedge games."

The Orchard Course at Newport National is a par-72, 7,244-yard course designed by legendary course architect Arthur Hills.
