As part of the of magazine's "Fitness Special," SIOC went behind the scenes in College Station to find out the secrets for the off-season success of QB Reggie McNeal, RB Courtney Lewis and WR DeQawn Mobley of Texas A&M. From horizontal pull-ups to ˝ V-ups to hurdle hop to box jump, Texas A&M's offensive trio share their thoughts and tips with readers from the weight room.
Sports Illustrated On Campus also goes into the belly of the beast by profiling orientation for first-year students at West Point, where cadets undergo 45 days of Cadet Basic Training that include short nights and long marches.
Finally, SIOC takes a peek into to the eating habits of three college athletes - Molly Huddle of Notre Dame, Nick Leaders of Iowa State and Wes Petticrew of Virginia - by asking them to monitor their diet over a 72 hour period.
The September 29th edition of SI On Campus, which will be available in campus Rec Centers of schools designated to receive the magazine beginning September 29, features Reggie McNeal of Texas A&M on the cover with a cover line that reads: What It Takes To Get Huge.
Roadtrip - Sports Illustrated On Campus hits the Big Ten in this week's Roadtrip section by ranking all 11 schools. According to the magazine, Wisconsin offers the best game-day atmosphere in the conference followed by Penn State, Ohio State, Iowa, Michigan, Indiana, Purdue, Michigan State, Illinois, Minnesota and Northwestern.
Faces in the Crowd - Cynthia Barboza of Stanford is the school's newest sensation on the volleyball court. SI On Campus caught up with the Cardinal who shared her thoughts on such topics as being tall, her roots, Misty May and Stanford.
Crime and Punishment - As a star defensive end and National Honor Society member, Marcus Dixon had plenty of choices in high school. After making a poor decision that devastated him and his family, SI On Campus explains how he found redemption at Hampton University.
