The 11th-ranked Texas A&M soccer team returns home after two huge conference road victories last weekend, to face the Boise State Broncos Friday at 7:00 p.m. in the friendly confines of the Aggie Soccer Stadium.
"This is a really special game for us," commented A&M head coach G. Guerrieri. "The girls are not only excited to be back playing in front of the best fans in the nation but also to have the opportunity to take part in such a unique promotion where they will be able to autograph and give away their actual game jersey to several lucky fans after the game."
This match serves as the unveiling of the newest 12th Man Team Jersey that can be earned by attending 36 or more athletic home events this school year. Everyone who stamps or scans in at the 12th Man Team Rewards tables upon entering the soccer stadium will be able to register to win one of these game worn jerseys.
Texas A&M has played seven of their last nine games on the road this season, the two home games being 3-0 wins over Stephen F. Austin and East Carolina.
The visiting Broncos are off to their best start in the program's seven plus years, going 6-2-2 in non-conference play, and bringing a five-game winning streak with them into College Station. Junior Nicole Coleman leads the Broncos with four goals and three assists thus far.
On the home bench, the Aggies are toting a 7-1-1, 2-0 Big 12 record. Melissa Garey is on fire as she leads the Ags and the Big 12 in goals scored with nine and not far behind is fellow sophomore forward Ashlee Pistorius with seven.
As a team, in conference play, Texas A&M, who has outshot opponents 193-68, is leading the Big 12 in corner kicks, with an average of nine per game; while in the goals per game category they are tied with Iowa St., averaging three.
