The Texas A&M Softball team will continue with its fall game schedule on Tuesday as it faces McLennan Community College at 3:00 p.m. and then again at 5:00 p.m. at the Bryan High softball facilities.

Last Thursday, the Aggies faced the Navarro College Bulldogs in a two-game set. The Aggies won the first game with the run rule in effect, 9-1 and also took game two, 7-1.

A&M's offense, which led the nation in average last season, hit well throughout the lineup in the doubleheader. During the first game, infielder Jami Lobpries notched her first career homerun.

Sophomore Megan Gibson was on the mound in game one and threw a complete game, one-hitter; pitching a perfect game through five innings.

Junior Jill Weynand got the start for the Aggies in game two and recorded the win, working a complete game as well as helping her cause offensively by hitting two doubles of her own.

"I was pleased with our performance in our opening games," commented A&M head coach Jo Evans. "I think we could have hit the ball better but that will come as we progress through the fall and into the spring. The whole purpose of fall ball is to improve each day and get ready for the rugged spring season and that is what we look to do on Tuesday. These games are not about our opponents but about what we as a team and individuals can do to get better."

A&M has a day of rest before this week's second doubleheader is scheduled to take place. On Thursday, the Aggies will take on the Lady Bucs from Blinn College. The games are set to start at 5:00 and 7:00 p.m.

Please note that the fall games are being played at the Bryan High School softball field while construction is being completed on the new playing surface at the Aggie Softball Complex.

Fans attending games at the Bryan High facilities should park in the swimming pool parking lot or the outer edges of the main parking lot, outside the yellow lines.
