Green Bay Packers' wide receiver and former Texas A&M standout Terrence Murphy will serve as the Aggies' honorary captain prior to the game against Oklahoma State on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Kyle Field.

Murphy, a native of Tyler, Texas, is in his rookie season in the NFL after the Packers' drafted him in the second round last spring.

The Packers recently placed Murphy on the injured reserve list after he suffered neck trauma at the end of a punt return in the game at Carolina two weeks ago. The Packers are optimistic that Murphy that will return next season at 100 percent. Green Bay is off this weekend.

Murphy saw action in three games for the Packers this season. He grabbed five receptions for 36 yards and made five punt returns for a total of 91 yards.

Murphy earned first-team All-Big 12 honors at wide receiver for the Aggies last year after posting 56 catches for 721 yards and three touchdowns. He had a team-best 28 catches that produced first downs and was second on the team with 11 20-yard-plus gains (nine via catch, two by kickoff return).

Murphy started 11 games at wide receiver for A&M and was ranked second on the team in all-purpose yards with 881 (80.1 per game). He owns school records in receptions and receiving yards with 131 for 1,962.
