The Texas A&M baseball team will conclude fall workouts with its annual Maroon and White Series this weekend at Olsen Field.
The games will be played Thursday and Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 10 a.m. Admission is free. Rosters are available through the PDF link to the right.
?It will be exciting to turn on the lights and watch our players compete,? said first-year head coach Rob Childress. ?We have worked hard this fall and this will be a great opportunity for the players to play in a game-like atmosphere.?
The series will be a best-of-three format and the third game will be played regardless of the outcome of the first two. All three games will be nine-innings.
The starting rotation for the series has been set. Junior lefty Jason Meyer will start for the White team and junior right-hander Kyle Nicholson will start for the Maroon squad.
A pair of young flame-throwers will toe the rubber on Friday night. Sophomore right-hander Chance Corgan will start for the Maroons and freshman righty Kyle Thebeau will get the ball for the Whites.
Two freshman lefties will battle in the series finale as College Station native Luke Anders will start for the White team. His mound opponent will be Scooter Hicks.
Friday?â„¢s game will be broadcast live locally on Sports Radio 1150 The Zone. Dave South will call the action and Childress and assistant coach Matt Deggs are scheduled to be in the booth for a few innings to provide commentary during the action. Airtime for the broadcast will be 6:50 p.m.
