Three former Texas A&M soccer players were named to the Big 12 Soccer 10th Anniversary Team, the conference announced on Wednesday. Goalkeeper, Melanie Wilson (?â„¢96-?â„¢99) and midfielders Bryn Blalack (?â„¢94-?â„¢97) and Kristin Strutz (?â„¢00-?â„¢03) were among 13 current and former players listed on the roster.
Wilson sits atop the Aggie goalkeepers in career saves (289), shutouts (32.3) and best goals against average (0.92). Blalack holds the Aggie all-time career records for most points (192) and most goals (79) and is fourth in assists (34). Strutz is number two in career assists (36), fourth in points (104) and fifth in most goals (34).
All members of the 10th Anniversary team were selected by the league?â„¢s head coaches. In order to be eligible for consideration, former athletes must have been named All-Big 12 First Team at least once in their careers.
Anniversary teams will be chosen for each conference sport during 2005-06 in celebration of the Big 12?â„¢s 10th anniversary season.
