Eleven Texas A&M Aggie Heart Award winners will sign autographs and pose for photos at the Aggie Fan Zone presented by Cingular on Saturday prior to the Aggies?â„¢ football game against Iowa State.
Located on the north side of Kyle Field along Joe Routt Boulevard, the Aggie Fan Zone is a popular gathering place for fans of all ages where food, live music, television, and radio shows, and a kids zone are available.
The Aggie Heart Award winners scheduled to appear are the original recipient Joe Wellborn ?â„¢66, Grady Allen ?â„¢68, Reggie Brown ?â„¢99, Chris Dausin ?â„¢93, Randall Dausin ?â„¢86, Jack Kovar ?â„¢70, Ted Lamp ?â„¢75, Tank Marshall ?â„¢77, Jeff Paine ?â„¢83, Craig Stump ?â„¢88, and Tim Van Zant ?â„¢04.
The Aggie Heart Award is the highest honor a football player can receive at A&M. It is presented to a senior who has completed his eligibility and displays the intangibles such as effort, desire, determination, competitiveness, leadership and courage. The award is voted upon by the players.
Aggie Fan Zone operates from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and admission is free. The Aggie Heart Award winners are expected to appear beginning at 1 p.m. in the Former Athletes Autograph Tent presented by the 12th Man Foundation.
