Texas A&M senior Jerad Harklau?â„¢s first round three-under-par 69 has him two shots off the lead at the Landfall Tradition at the Country Club at Landfall and helped put the Aggies in second place with a team score of 294, five stokes off Tulsa?â„¢s tournament leading 289 point total.

Harklau, who started his round on the back nine, was four-under going into hole number 17 after posting birdies on 14 and 15, and an eagle on the par five 16. Harklau carded five birdies and one eagle on the day and only trails Niall Turner of Minnesota?â„¢s five-under 67.

Freshman Bronson Burgoon is tied for ninth place with a one-over 73. Burgoon carded three birdies and four bogeys on the day. Senior Andrew Parr (three-over, 75) is tied for 28th place going into round two. Parr charged on his last nine holes with four birdies after opening six-over through nine. Sophomore Trey Todd is in 40th place with a five-over 77, and sophomore Robert Gates?â„¢ seven-over 79 puts him in 47th place.

The team standings are tight with seven teams within 10 strokes of Tulsa?â„¢s 289-point total. Following the Aggies in third is Coastal Carolina (295 points), Minnesota (296), Virginia Commonwealth (297), Ohio State (299), Illinois (299), host North Carolina-Wilmington (300), Michigan State (300), Virginia Tech (302), Purdue (305), and Memphis (310).
