Starting pitchers Chance Corgan and Kyle Thebeau carried shutouts into the seventh inning on Friday night, but the Maroon team rallied to defeat the White squad, 4-0, in the second game of the 2005 Maroon and White series at Olsen Field.

The win for the Maroons evened the series at one game a piece. The series finale will be played on Saturday at 10 a.m. Regular parking rules for football game days will be in effect for Saturday?â„¢s game.

Thebeau lasted seven-complete, allowing just one hit and striking out two. He did not figure in the decision.

Corgan earned the win, pitching 7 1/3 innings. He did not allow a run on four hits, while fanning seven in the process.

Matt Ueckert started the scoring with a two-out solo homer over the wall in right to give the Maroons a 1-0 lead.

Corgan started the eighth inning but was replaced by Hart Hering with one out and runners on first and second. Hering coaxed a strikeout and a pop up to preserve the lead.

A two-RBI single by Josh Stinson and a sacrifice fly by Ryan Hill in the ninth stretched the Maroon lead to 4-0.

Hering retired all three men he faced in the ninth to earn the save, while Adam Hale suffered the loss for the Whites.

Jon Kutcherousky had a pair of singles to pace the White offensive attack.
