The 10th-ranked, Texas A&M soccer team (13-3-2, 7-2-1 Big 12) will be traveling to the Blossom Soccer Stadium in San Antonio as the No. 1 seed to face the No. 8 seed, Missouri Tigers, (9-7-3, 3-5-2 Big 12) in the first round of the Big 12 Championship tournament on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.

?We?â„¢re looking forward to the opportunity to defend another title,? commented A&M head coach G Guerrieri. ?But we know that every game in this tournament is going to be very competitive and challenging. Missouri has been a difficult opponent for us the last couple of years; however we?â„¢re heading into this match with lots of confidence in our ability to win.?

Last Friday, the Aggies clinched their seventh Big 12 championship (fourth regular season), with the 4-0 win over Baylor. The previous championships were won in 1997, 2002 and 2004.

Texas A&M has won three Big 12 Tournament titles (1997, 2001 and 2004).

Heading into the tournament, Ashlee Pistorius has totaled the most points in the conference (40); she and Melissa Garey are now tied for the league lead in goals scored (15). Kati Jo Spisak was last year?â„¢s Big 12 Tournament Defensive MVP and remains in first place with the best goals against average in the Big 12 (0.72).

In the midst of his 13th season as the Aggies?â„¢ head coach, Guerrieri holds an overall record of 215-63-11 with a 76-19-6 mark in Big 12 play. Under Guerrieri?â„¢s direction, the Aggies have made five ?Sweet 16? appearances; two ?Elite 8? showings; have four Big 12 Regular Season titles and three Big 12 Championship tournament titles.
