Texas A&M?â„¢s Christi Hahn has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VI Women?â„¢s Volleyball First Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced today. As a member of the first team, Hahn will be considered for academic All-American honors, which will be announced Nov. 30.
Hahn, a junior from Leander, Texas, sports a 4.0 grade-point average while majoring in kinesiology.
She was a member of the CoSIDA Academic All-District VI second team last year, as well as the recipient of the Gathright Scholar Award for being the top sophomore student in A&M?â„¢s College of Education.
On the court, Hahn is a starting middle blocker for the Aggies and leads the team with a .288 hitting percentage. She ranks second on the team in both blocks (0.89) and points (3.28) per game and is third with a 2.51 kill average. Earlier this season, Hahn tied an A&M Big 12 record with four solo blocks in a five-game match against Colorado and also tied the school Big 12 record with 11 total blocks against the Buffaloes.
The academic team was selected by members of CoSIDA in District VI, which encompasses the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. To be eligible for academic all-district honors, student-athletes must be a starter or key reserve, have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade-point average and have achieved at least sophomore status.
