Texas A&M Director of Athletics Bill Byrne announced the 2006 Texas A&M football schedule as well as ticket prices today.
"I am pleased to announce we have signed contracts for all of our 2006 football opponents," Byrne said. "We have seven home games and it appears we may only have to travel out of the state of Texas twice this coming year."
The Aggies open the season at home against The Citadel on Sept. 2 and play 11 straight weeks. Eight of the opponents were bowl eligible this season.
"As the home team, Army wanted to move our game to San Antonio so that more of their soldiers could attend and we agreed," Byrne said. "The game in the Alamodome will be televised by an ESPN entity and it appears our game with Louisiana Tech has a good chance of being televised as well."
Byrne also announced the home season ticket prices will stay the same with the exception of the discounted ticket in the top section of the Zone will increase from $200 to $220.
"Our donors and season ticket holders are the backbone of our athletics department," Byrne stated. "I am pleased we are able to offer our season ticket holders a discount this year. Even with the additional game, the season ticket prices will stay the same with the exception of the discounted ticket in the Zone."
Suite and Zone Club tickets are $445 with armchair seats set at $410 and the bench seating at $375.
The individual ticket prices are as follows: The Citadel, Louisiana-Lafayette and Louisiana Tech are $50 each, Missouri is $70 with Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Nebraska all at $80. All total, the tickets are a $460 value. A bench season ticket holder saves $85.
