After earning Big 12 and All-Central Region honors, sophomore forward Ashlee Pistorius has been named to the Soccer Buzz All-America third team, editors of the magazine announced.
?Ashlee is a very special player,? commented A&M head coach G Guerrieri. ?It's great to see her acknowledged again nationally as an All-American following another championship season for the Aggies.?
Last month, Pistorius was named to the NSCAA All-Central Region first team as well as being selected first-team All-Big 12 and was named the Big 12 Tournament Offensive MVP. At the end of the 2005 season, Pistorius led the conference in total points (56) and goals scored (22). She was also a finalist for Soccer Buzz?â„¢s 2005 National Player of the Year.
As a freshman Pistorius was honored as the 2004 Big 12 Rookie of the Year. She was also selected to the Soccer Buzz Freshman All-America first team.
Voting for the Soccer Buzz All-America teams was open to all Division 1 head coaches and Soccer Buzz staff, all 308 Division 1 programs were eligible for the awards that have been presented since 1996.
