COLLEGE STATION (AP)- Acie Law recovered from an early ankle injury to score 17 points and Antoine Wright added 14, leading Texas A&M to a 65-51 victory over Kansas State on Jan. 22, 2005. Wright started a 14-4 run midway through the second half with a 3-pointer and Law finished it with a jumper from the corner to end a two-game losing streak for the Aggies. Freshman Joseph Jones had 12 points and eight rebounds and Bobby Leach chipped in with 10 points and six assists. Jeremiah Massey led Kansas State with 20 points and was the only Wildcats player to score in double figures. After a week-long layoff following a 20-point upset of Missouri, Kansas State struggled to find its shooting touch as the Aggies?â„¢ aggressive pressure defense carried them for long stretches.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP)- Jeremiah Massey had 18 points and fueled a key surge in the second half that propelled Kansas State past Texas A&M 68-62 on March 10 in the first round of the Big 12 tournament. Antoine Wright had 28 points for the Aggies. Acie Law sank a 3-pointer -- his only bucket in 13 shots -- that gave the Aggies a 46-41 advantage. Wright had 19 points in the first half and led a 16-2 run with a pair of 3-pointers and a big dunk that gave the Aggies a 31-27 halftime lead.

Oklahoma Recap
COLLEGE STATION (AP)- Terrell Everett hit a 3-pointer with 6.1 seconds left Saturday to help No. 22 Oklahoma avoid an 0-3 start in the league with a 45-44 victory over Texas A&M. Taj Gray added 13 points for the Sooners. They shot only 41 percent (16-of-39) and were outrebounded 31-29 -- just the second time this season Oklahoma has been beaten on the boards -- but still stole a critical victory. Acie Law scored 14 points for the Aggies, who lost for the first time in 12 home games this season. The Aggies went 5 minutes without a field goal in the second half, but consecutive 3-pointers by Chris Walker gave them a 42-40 lead heading into the last 3 minutes. Gray was called for an offensive foul near the 1-minute mark and Walker got the ball near the top of the key and found Marlon Pompey for a fadeaway jumper just as the shot clock expired. Everett scored on a pull-up jumper with 25 seconds left to quiet the rowdy crowd. Pompey missed the front end of a 1-and-1 with 17 seconds to go and Everett coolly swished the go-ahead 3 from the wing. Joseph Jones drove the length of the floor at the end, but slipped in the lane as he attempted a layup at the buzzer. The Aggies finished 17-of-46 from the field (37 percent), including 6-of-19 from 3-point range.

Looking Ahead
* The Aggies continue their two-game road swing on Saturday when they visit Iowa State (12:30 p.m.).
* A&M returns home next week to play host to Kansas on Wednesday (7 p.m.), then Baylor on Saturday (5 p.m.).
Who?â„¢s Hot?
* After missing the Savannah State game with a concussion, junior Acie Law has scored in double figures in seven straight games, averaging 17.7 points in that span. Law leads the Big 12 in scoring in league play with 23.3 per game.
* Sophomore Joseph Jones scored 27 points, a career-high for a Big 12 game, at Oklahoma State, and added 7 rebounds. Plagued by foul trouble in some games, Jones is averaging 21.4 points and 8.8 rebounds in games in which he plays at least 25 minutes. He?â„¢s the only Big 12 player to rank in the league?â„¢s top 10 in both scoring and rebounding while averaging fewer than 26 minutes.
* Senior Chris Walker has averaged 28.7 minutes in Big 12 play and has been a defensive force inside. He handed out a career-high five assists against Tech after entering the game with only three for the season and made a key three-pointer in A&M?â„¢s second-half rally. He scored 10 points, a career-high for league play, against Oklahoma, making a career-best 3-of-5 three-pointers.
Talking Points
* A&M has lost each of its last two games (Oklahoma State and Oklahoma) after missing potential game-winning shots on the final play.
* A&M is 0-6 against Kansas State in games played in Manhattan (0-5 at Bramlage Coliseum).
* After leading at half in each of its first 10 games, A&M has trailed at intermission in three of the last four games. The Aggies rallied to beat Texas Tech, but lost to Oklahoma in the only game in that span in which they led at the break.
* A&M has trailed by double digits just once (14 to Texas Tech) and came back to win that game. The Aggies lost to Oklahoma State after leading by as many as eight in the second half and lost to Oklahoma after losing a seven-point second-half advantage.
* In 45 games under Billy Gillispie, only two opponents have shot better than 48 percent against A&M -- OU last year in College Station (53.2) and Oklahoma State this season in Stillwater (.560).
* A&M is forcing an average of 21.7 turnovers per game, most in the Big 12, and rank second nationally in defensive turnover percentage (turnovers per 100 possessions) at 31.9 percent. The Aggies are averaging a whopping 24.4 points off turnovers per game.
* A&M ranks sixth nationally in defensive efficiency (points allowed per 100 possessions) at 85.4. The Aggies lead the Big 12 and rank 14th nationally in scoring defense, allowing just 57.9 per game.
* A&M is the only Big 12 team to average at least 72.0 points while allowing fewer than 58.0 per game.
* A&M has scored 25.2 percent of its points from the FT line, most in the Big 12 and 15th nationally.
* The Aggies rank third in the nation in free throw rate (free throws made divided by field goal attempts) at 34.6 percent. A&M lead the Big 12 and rank fifth nationally with 26.6 free throw attempts per game and also lead the league, and rank seventh nationally, with 18.4 free throws made per game.
* A&M averages 23.1 personal fouls per game, most in the Big 12 and sixth most nationally. Opponents have scored 30.7 percent of their points from the line, the second highest rate in the nation.
* After making 42 percent of their three-pointers in the first 6 games games, A&M has made 27.9 percent (38-136) in the last eight games, averaging just 4.8 treys per game.
* The foursome of Acie Law, Joseph Jones, Dominique Kirk and Chris Walker have started all 19 Big 12 games together in the last two seasons.
* Acie Law and Marlon Pompey are the only players who were on the A&M roster two years ago. Of the 19 players listed, 90 percent are first or second-year players.
