The No. 16-ranked Texas A&M men's golf team will open its spring season at the PING-Arizona Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday at Arizona National Golf Club.

The tournament will consists of 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday. Play begins at 8 a.m. (MST) each day on the par-71, 6,900-yard course.
In addition to A&M, the 16-team field includes No. 10, Arizona State, No. 11 Brigham Young, California, UC-Irvine, Denver, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Oregon, Oregon State, No. 25 Pepperdine, No. 23 Texas, Texas-El Paso, Tulsa, and host Arizona (two squads).
A&M will be represented by sophomore Robert Gates, senior Jerad Harklau, freshmen Bronson Burgoon, senior Andrew Parr and sophomore Trey Todd.
The Aggies won two of their four fall tournaments.
"I'm really anxious to see how we play this spring and Arizona should give us a good idea of where we stand," A&M coach J.T. Higgins said. "We are a little rusty from the winter break and we have not been real sharp but if we can eliminate some of our mental mistakes we should have a good tournament because everyone else is in the same boat.
"This time of year, the teams with the best attitudes and with the most mental toughness usually fare well," Higgins added. "The guys are really excited to be playing again and if that counts for anything we should be in pretty good shape."
